Barbers and cosmetologists work primarily in a salon providing haircutting, hairstyling, and a range of other beauty services. Barbers in the state of Texas are licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

The Barbering Certificate is designed for dual enrollment at a partnering and approved high school sites and is NOT offered at the LSCO campus. It will provide high school students the preparatory education and experience in the court reporting industry.

The certificate is to be used as a stackable credential in the Barber Management Associate of Applied Science Degree.
